Easy and Delicious Veggie Pizza Recipe

If you’re craving pizza but want something lighter and packed with nutrients, a homemade veggie pizza is the perfect choice. Made with fresh vegetables, a savory homemade tomato sauce, and a perfectly crisp crust, this pizza is sure to satisfy everyone at your table.


  • For the pizza dough:
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 package)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • For the toppings:
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)


  1. In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water, then sprinkle yeast on top. Let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Knead until the dough comes together in a smooth, elastic ball, about 7 minutes.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to coat. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the dough and on a floured surface, roll out into your desired pizza shape.
  5. Transfer the rolled dough onto a baking sheet or preheated pizza stone.
  6. Mix the tomato sauce with oregano, basil, and garlic powder. Spread it evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  7. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then arrange bell pepper, red onion, cherry tomatoes, olives, and mushrooms on top.
  8. Cover with the remaining cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly, about 12-15 minutes.
  10. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
