Creamy Garlic Shrimp Pasta
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces pasta of your choice
 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
 - 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
 - Salt and pepper, to taste
 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
 - 5 cloves garlic, minced
 - 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
 - 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
 - 1 cup heavy cream
 - 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
 - 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice
 - Lemon zest from 1 lemon (for garnish)

Instructions:
- Prepare the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, drain, and set aside.
 - While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, and sauté until they are pink and just cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
 - In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, add garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute or until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
 - Pour in the broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it reduce by half, which will take about 3-4 minutes.
 - Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until well combined. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken.
 - Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back to the skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through.
 - Remove from heat, and stir in parsley and lemon juice. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
 - Serve immediately, garnished with lemon zest and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.

Tips:
- To make the dish lighter, you can substitute full-fat heavy cream with light cream or half-and-half.
 - If you’re looking to add more vegetables, consider tossing in some spinach or sun-dried tomatoes when you add the garlic.
