If you’re craving a savory, flavorful dish that is both satisfying and easy to make, look no further than this classic Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry. Packed with tender beef slices, nutritious broccoli, and coated in a rich, garlicky sauce, this dish will tantalize your taste buds and become a staple in your dinner rotation.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced across the grain
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • White rice or cooked noodles, for serving

Marinade:

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for thickening)

Instructions:

  1. Begin by marinating the beef. In a bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Add the sliced beef and toss to coat. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While the beef is marinating, prepare the sauce by combining 1/4 cup soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  3. In a separate small bowl, dissolve 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in a tablespoon of water to make a slurry for thickening the sauce later on.
  4. Steam the broccoli until it’s bright green and just tender, about 3 minutes, then set aside. Alternatively, you can blanch the broccoli in boiling water for the same amount of time, then drain.
  5. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. When the oil starts to shimmer, add the marinated beef in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Sauté until the beef is browned and nearly cooked through, then remove it from the pan and set aside.
  6. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil, followed by the minced garlic and grated ginger. Fry for about 30 seconds, just until aromatic.
  7. Add the steamed broccoli to the pan, tossing to coat with the garlic and ginger.
  8. Give the prepared sauce a quick stir and pour it into the pan with the broccoli. Bring to a simmer and allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
  9. Return the beef to the pan and stir well to combine with the broccoli and sauce. Cook for another 2 minutes, or until the beef is heated through and the sauce has thickened to your liking, using the prepared cornstarch slurry to adjust consistency if needed.
  10. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot over a bed of white rice or noodles, and sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish, if desired.

This Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry is not only a crowd-pleaser but also a fantastic way to get in a balanced meal with protein, greens, and carbs, all within 30 minutes. Enjoy!
